Who Is the Registrar for My Domain?

This article explains who your domain’s Registrar of Record is, whether Namify acts as registrar or authorised reseller, and how you manage your domain either way.

Namify may provide domain registration and management services in one of two ways, depending on the domain extension (TLD):

  • Registrar of Record: Namify is the accredited registrar responsible for the domain registration with the applicable registry.

  • Authorised Reseller: Namify is authorised to sell and manage the domain through an accredited registrar that acts as the Registrar of Record.

Regardless of which model applies, Namify remains your primary platform for managing your domain and accessing related services.

What is the Registrar of Record?

The Registrar of Record is the registrar officially responsible for the domain registration with the domain registry.

For domains where Namify is the Registrar of Record, Namify manages the registration directly with the applicable registry and provides the associated domain management services.

What is an Authorised Reseller?

For some domain extensions, Namify provides registration services as an authorised reseller through an accredited registrar.

In this case:

Registry → Registrar of Record → Namify → Customer

The upstream registrar remains the Registrar of Record, while Namify provides the customer-facing registration and domain management experience.

Does this affect how I manage my domain?

No, you can continue to use your Namify account to:

  • Manage your domain

  • Update domain contact information

  • Manage DNS and nameservers

  • Enable or disable auto-renewal

  • Renew your domain

  • Manage domain security settings

  • Obtain your domain transfer code

  • Manage eligible Namify services associated with your domain

How can I find out who is the Registrar of Record?

Important

Domain registrations are subject to the policies and requirements of the applicable registry, Registrar of Record, and ICANN where applicable.

Where Namify acts as an authorised reseller, certain registration, transfer, renewal, or compliance processes may be governed by the upstream Registrar of Record's requirements in addition to Namify's terms and policies.
